Matamata Christian School is a State Integrated School with a Special Christian Character. Peria Christian Education Inc (PCE) are the owners and proprietors of the school property. Our proprietor has an integration agreement with the Minister of Education and ensures that the conditions of the integration agreement are met, which includes requirements around our Special Character, employment, property, and enrolment.
The schools employment policy requires that prior to being offered any teaching position at Matamata Christian School, staff confirm their acceptance of our Statement of Faith, definition of Special Character and our sacredly held beliefs”. Teacher aide, Permanent Full-Time
Matamata Christian School has a rare opportunity for a teacher aide to join our staff. Starting in Term 3 the school has a special needs student starting that requires one to one support throughout each day. The child is starting as a new entrant student and is expected to need support throughout their school years.
This unique position is available for someone who believes they have a drive to support children with needs and who have a passion to serve in a strong Christian environment with a committed team. If this sounds like you we would love to hear from you.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and follow the classroom teacher’s direction.
Willingness to work with a specific plan to develop a student with special needs.
Strong interpersonal skills coupled with a professional demeanour.
Willingness to undertake personal care tasks where necessary.
Adaptability to diverse situations and tasks if required.
Appreciation and respect the diversity, heritage, language, and culture of all students, their whanau and school staff.
Demonstrated commitment to the principles of te tiriti o Waitangi.
Completion of a satisfactory police vetting check is a condition of employment.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Professional interpersonal, communication and strong problem-solving skills.
Experience working as a teacher aide or in ECE may be an advantage.
Remuneration:
Grade B (Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement – Teacher Aide).
